Cá Hấp Gừng Xì Dầu (Steamed Fish in Ginger Soy Sauce) |
Ingredients:
- 1-2 pounds of your favorite fish
- 2 table spoon of light soy sauce
- 1 table spoon of oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil and half teaspoon of sesame oil (optional)
- 1 small ginger peeled and thinly slice into fine strips
- 1/2 of a small withe onion diced
- your favorite mushrooms....a handful
- green onions, cilantro, and garlic
- fresh ground black pepper and 1 tea spoon of sugar
Preparation:
- Clean your fish accordingly by rubbing with salt and rinse to remove the slime and any fishy smell it may has. Fresh fish should not have any fishy smell and the eyes should be clear not cloudy. Place fish on a plate that can be use to steam and serve.
- Prepare marinade by combining soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, minces garlic, oils, ground pepper, 1 table spoon of water and mix well. Pour this mixture all over the fish including the inside. Add all other ingredients except for green onions and cilantro to the place including some stuff inside of fish as well.
- After your steamer heated completely on high when the water is boiling then you may add the whole plate into the pot and then reduce the heat down to medium. After 10 minutes add in the cilantro and green onions then continue to steam for another 5 minutes depending on the size of your fish.

- Take out fish and served with rice or make a refreshing sprig rolls out of it.

- Your favorite greens (lettuce, cucumber, mint, cilantro, etc..)

- Rice noodle
- Make a dipping sauce with fish sauce, water, sugar, lime and chili (optional)
